Intro to the Blog

Welcome to ajorgensenfilm, and my personal blog!

My name is Andrew Jorgensen and I am a filmmaker and cinematographer based out of Northern Virginia.

In addition to my freelance career, I am also a grad student studying New Media Art at George Mason University, where I also work as the technical coordinator for the Film and Video Studies Department.

I have worked in all sorts of entertainment jobs, from live theatre, film production, to cinemas, and events. I am extremely passionate about this industry and feel like I have a lot of knowledge and experience to share. I am hoping I can use this forum to share in some of my experience both in my professional career, but in my attempt to mentor and teach the next generation of filmmakers.

I am not sure what direction this blog will head. If it will remain as a written blog, a podcast or maybe even a video log. So tell me what you want to hear about, what topics are interesting to you, and let's see where this thing goes!

A couple months ago I was asked to create this Art21 style video. (If you have never seen an Art21 video I'll link a couple below.) It's mostly a rambling of what I think and feel about my work as an artist, but I think it's the best place to start right now.

Until next time.
